Elektroporcelán Louny is located 2 km west of the town of Louny, along the road connecting Prague and Chomutov, in the picturesque landscape of the Central Bohemian Uplands. The plant was opened in 1950 as one of the most modern factories of its time, specializing in the production of porcelain insulators for both low and high voltage. In 1958, it became the central hub of an association of six Czech and one Slovak companies focused on ceramic production. We are also suppliers of lattice towers.
Since 1994, the company has operated as a joint-stock company under the name Elektroporcelán a.s. In 2022, the company underwent restructuring and shifted its focus to finishing operations throughout the entire production process. Porcelain bodies from external suppliers undergo thorough visual and dimensional inspection at our facility, followed by individual electrical tests of bare insulators. We then carry out grouting with various materials such as Portland cement, sulfur graphite, PbSb10, and epoxy sealants, including the potential assembly of additional required components.
After the assembly of the insulators, the required individual mechanical and electrical tests are carried out, along with radio interference tests if necessary. Before shipment, the products undergo selective testing according to international standards or technical specifications.
We are continuously expanding Elektroporcelán Louny’s traditional product portfolio through commercial representation of comprehensive equipment, such as lattice towers. Today, we primarily supply both assembled and unassembled ceramic insulators, as well as polymer insulators for low, high, and extra-high voltage applications.
Our main products include:
- Ceramic materials used: Materials according to IEC 672.3, subgroups C110, C120, and C130.
- Glaze: The most common colors are white, gray, and brown.
- Testing of ceramic and polymer insulators: Performed in accordance with IEC standards 137, 60168, 62155, 60383, and 61109.
- Lattice towers
